1. Porto Istana
One of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia, just over 10 minutes from Olbia Airport, making it perfect for a quick dip before your flight.

The beach consists of four smaller sections separated by little rocks that are easy to cross. The first section tends to be fairly busy, while the last one offers more privacy. The fine white sand reflects the sunlight, creating a dazzling effect. This white sand gives the water an incredible crystal-clear, transparent appearance. The water is shallow for many meters, enhancing its stunning beauty. It is usually calm, making it ideal for families or a relaxing swim.
What makes this beach even more special is the breathtaking view of Tavolara, a striking island in the sea that I like to call Sardinia’s Capri. I often visit this beach when I have an afternoon flight for a final end of the holiday dip.
2. Porto Taverna

Not far from Porto Istana, Porto Taverna shares a similar stunning view and beautiful beaches. What makes it unique, however, is the small pond nearby, home to Sardinian pink flamingos.

You can walk along a little trail over the pond, where you can admire these beautiful creatures up close while enjoying an incredible view of Tavolara. It’s a serene spot that offers a unique mix of wildlife and natural beauty. I tend to visit this beach during winter time for relaxing atmosphere, whilst it tends to get busy in summer.
3. Cala Brandinchi
The beach is characterized by its fine white sand, surrounded by lush trees, giving it a wild and exotic feel reminiscent of French Polynesia. While this spot is undoubtedly beautiful, it can get very busy, especially during peak season, and the parking queues can be long. Still, it’s well worth a visit to experience its natural beauty firsthand.
Arguably one of the most famous beaches on the island, Cala Brandinchi with its Caribbean-like waters—crystal clear and as blue as the sky, maybe even clearer.
