5 Quiet and Beautiful Beaches Near Santa Teresa Gallura You Need to Visit

1. La Liccia

Located just a 10-minute drive from Santa Teresa Gallura, Li Liccia is a pristine, untouched beach with crystal-clear blue water, surrounded by beautiful sand dunes.

To get there, head south from Santa Teresa Gallura. After about 5 minutes, you’ll spot a country road on your left. A short drive down this road leads you to a free parking area. Once you’ve parked, it’s just a short walk through the sand dunes before you’re welcomed by the breathtaking beauty of Li Liccia.

This beach stretches for about 1 kilometer, boasting fine white sand and a relaxed, tranquil atmosphere. It’s rarely crowded, making it easy to find your own quiet spot to unwind and enjoy the stunning views.

Keep in mind that there are no cafes or facilities on the beach, so be sure to bring your own food and drinks to make the most of your visit.

2. Monti Russu

While more popular and well-known, this beach still retains its untouched environment and peacefulness, making it perfect for a relaxing day. It can get busier during peak season, but you’ll always find a spot and enjoy some privacy. The name comes from the stunning red rocks visible at the end of the beach.

Monti Russu is about a ten-minute drive south of Santa Teresa Gallura. I highly recommend visiting in the evening to witness one of the most breathtaking sunsets. As the sky turns pink, it beautifully complements the red rocks, creating a magical scene.

The water here is crystal clear, though it can get deep quickly if you decide to go for a swim.

3. Cala Grande – La Valle della Luna

Located in the famous Valle della Luna (Moon Valley), this beach is a true hidden gem. To get there, drive to Capo Testa, park your car, and walk about 2 km along unpaved roads. It’s best to wear sturdy walking footwear, but if you’re feeling adventurous like a local, you can even go barefoot.

This spot is popular with hippies and known for its relaxed vibe. Even today, you’ll find artists, musicians, and travelers from all over the world, adding a magical energy to the place.

The challenging journey to Cala Grande ensures it’s less crowded, offering a serene environment to admire nature. Once you arrive, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into another world—or maybe even the moon itself.

4. Rena Majore

This long, stretched beach is located just 7 km from Santa Teresa Gallura. Known for its white sand and expansive shoreline, Rena Majore provides plenty of space to find a quiet spot to relax, even during busier times.

Closer to the Rena Majore village, you’ll find beachside bars that are perfect for enjoying the evening sunset.

Surrounded by an incredible natural landscape, the beach also offers shaded spots if you head to La Pineta, a nearby pine forest.

Rena Majore has parking and essential services, making it a convenient and beautiful spot to spend the day.

5. La Licciola

Unlike the other beaches, La Licciola is situated to the east of Santa Teresa. Although it can get busier during peak season due to its large parking area, it’s still more tranquil than the main beaches of Santa Teresa Gallura.

What makes this beach unique is the view of the small rock near the shore, as well as the stunning vistas of Spargi and Corica. You can easily swim to the rock to take in breathtaking views of the beach.

While there are many other quiet beaches to discover, these are my top recommendations for anyone exploring Santa Teresa Gallura and wanting a relaxed environment.

Buon Viaggio!
